Leaflet with mailing fold

Can you picture what a double french fold looks like? If you're now reaching for your printing glossary - don't worry. To keep it simple, we simply refer to this type of fold as a mailer fold leaflet. And the name also reveals the intended use, because the mailer fold transforms an oversize format into an envelope-compliant DL format and thus saves postage costs - and that pays off, for example, when mailing campaigns with a large number of recipients are planned.

Who needs that?
Nobody. After all, whatever you want to do and whoever you want to reach with mail-outs can be done completely paperless nowadays via email and newsletter, by phone or by visiting customers. Can't it? We hear three different perspectives that will shed light on the subject from different angles.

Corporate lawyers "Homo iurensis" warn: the GDPR always causes trouble.
Many people are still at the end of their ropes with The General Data Protection Regulations. It is a stroke of luck for anyone who plans on implementing postal mail-outs: Whereas e-mails and newsletters require the recipient's consent (keyword: double opt-in), postal mailouts can be sent without explicit consent.
Article 6 makes this possible: "Legitimate interest" is the magic formula that makes it possible to send marketing mail without the consent of the recipient. And anyone who wishes to advertise his product or service by mail to potential customers and buyers has such a legitimate interest. In the words of the GDPR: "The processing of personal data for direct marketing purposes may be regarded as carried out for a legitimate interest."
However, this does not grant a carte blanche to companies seeking to advertise: One should continue to handle the acquired data sensitively in the future, especially when it comes to address purchasing and advertising.

Financial accountants "Homo oeconomicus" complain: but think of the costs ...
Creating text and images, printing and finishing, dispatch and distribution - compared to email campaigns and newsletters, it's certainly a bigger hit to your wallet. However, as described above, the investment is worthwhile if you can reach a large target group with legal security. In comparison to personal contact, whether by telephone, customer visit or exhibition stand, postal mailings still score points for manageable costs.

Creatives "Homo sensoricus" urge: Take! Me! Seriously!
The struggle in advertising media resembles a "survival of the most unique". If you succeed in standing out from the mass of standard marketing tools, you can gain a much sought-after but scarce resource: the recipient's attention. Fortunately, human senses help us out here.

Full broadside for the senses

Whether you settle for five, six or even seven senses, there is always more than one involved. Direct mailouts address several of them, appealing to us on more levels than an online option, arousing our curiosity and sometimes even our thirst for play.

The Multi-Sensory Effect
Direct mail catches the eye with colourful pictures and great texts, is often passed from hand to hand and even has an attractive paper scent. Sight, touch and smell - together they create the multi-effect of direct mailing.

Now It's Your Turn
However, these characteristics alone do not guarantee a postal mailout's success: Whether it's activating existing customers or acquiring new ones - implementation makes all the difference. Otherwise, physical mailouts will end up where email and newsletters often find their final resting place - in the trash. So make sure that the recipient stays engaged and is curious about what is to come. Whether it's a new product or an event, make sure your customers can say nothing other than "Yes, I want it!" The mailer fold leaflet from printworld.com sets the stage for your ideas.

A Mailer Fold Flyer is Born

Mailer fold leaflets produced by printworld.com have a fixed final format of 100 x 210 mm. You can find corresponding packaging with our business/catalogue envelopes.

Whether you use the mailer fold leaflet for a product presentation, an invitation to a company event or to send New Year's greetings to your customers, we have the right paper grade for you. You have a choice of 80g or 90g offset papers that can be subsequently written and printed on, as well as brightly coloured coated art papers in 90g and 115g gloss or matt. After printing and cutting they are then folded to the intended final format: First it is "wrapped" twice vertically and then twice horizontally - et voilà - that's it, the double french fold, which of course we still call the mailer fold. Whether for a small target group or as part of a large-scale advertising campaign: with print runs of 250 to 250,000 copies, your online printer printworld.com has the right product in stock for every target group. To help you keep track and make distribution easier, we also offer you the option of bundling up to 25 or 50 pieces.

Before the Mailer Fold Flyer is Posted ...

If you have to coordinate your mailing campaign from several distribution stations, it is advisable to split your delivery into smaller partial deliveries: In the "Shipping" section on our calculation page, you have the option of splitting your order between up to eight delivery addresses. Here you can also decide who is named as sender. This is by default printworld.com, but by selecting "neutral delivery note" or "upload your own delivery note" you can customise the sender according to your requirements. Finally, you can also determine the production and delivery speed for your mailout. Simply combine a production speed of between two to five working days with standard or express delivery - depending on how much or little time you have.

Mailer Fold Flyer Print Data -Get It Right The First Time

When creating your print data, the same rule applies to all our products: the final format alone is not enough. Manufacturing tolerances naturally occur during cutting and folding in the finishing process, which must be taken into account when creating your print file. To ensure that no part of the text is missing and that images are not cut off, we ask you to define a bleed margin of 2 mm around the edge of the final format and also to maintain a safety clearance of at least 5 mm from the edge of the final format for text and image components. You should also pay particular attention to the alignment of the pages and their correct arrangement in the print data - after all, the eighteen pages of the mailing fold should not end up upside down or be ordered incorrectly.

A little tip: If you send us your data by 12 noon, that day counts as a production day and your order will be delivered one day earlier.
