The printworld.com GmbH aims to provide all people with the most equal access possible to the information and functions of its online printing portal.
We design and develop our online offering with the aim of meeting the requirements applicable to us under the German Accessibility Strengthening Act (Barrierefreiheitsstärkungsgesetz, BFSG) and the Ordinance on the Accessibility Strengthening Act (BFSGV). In the technical implementation, we take into account the relevant requirements and recognised standards for digital accessibility.
1. Scope of this information
This information applies to the e-commerce service provided by printworld.com GmbH (hereinafter "printworld.com") via the website www.printworld.com, including its country and language versions.
This includes in particular:
- the website www.printworld.com with its subpages and country or language versions
- the selection and configuration of print products
- price calculation
- the ordering process and shopping basket
- the submission of print data
- registration and login
- the personal customer area, including order management
- the selection of shipping and payment options
- the identification, authentication and payment functions required for placing an order
Special considerations regarding responsibility may apply to third-party content and services. Where third-party services form part of the e-commerce service we offer, we take into account the legal requirements applicable to them.
This information does not cover the print products individually commissioned by our customers and produced on the basis of the print data they supply. The accessibility requirements for our service relate to access to and use of our online offering.
2. Description of the service
printworld.com produces and sells individually configured print products via an online shop.
Our range includes flyers, folded leaflets, brochures, posters and other print products.
Customers can select a print product on our website and configure it according to various properties. Depending on the product, these may include format, paper or material, print run, colours, processing, finishing and production time.
The price is calculated and displayed on the basis of the selected configuration.
Customers can save quotes or configurations, submit their own print data electronically for production, enter delivery and billing details, and select from the available shipping and payment options.
Once the configuration is complete, the desired products can be added to the shopping basket and ordered bindingly.
Registered customers can also view and manage existing orders, among other things, via their personal customer area.
For questions about our products, print data, orders or individual requirements, we additionally offer personal support through our customer service team.
3. Accessibility requirements
Our service is subject in particular to the requirements of the German Accessibility Strengthening Act (BFSG) and the Ordinance on the Accessibility Strengthening Act (BFSGV).
In the technical implementation, we also take into account the requirements of EN 301 549 relevant to web content, as well as the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG).
For our online shop, accessibility means in particular that the information and functions required to use the service are designed to be as
- perceivable,
- operable,
- understandable and
- robust
as possible.
This applies in particular to navigation and orientation within the online shop, product selection and configuration, forms and input fields, registration and login, print data submission, the shopping basket and ordering process, and the identification, authentication, security and payment functions required for placing an order.
In design and ongoing technical development, we take into account aspects such as keyboard operability, clear labelling, logical content structure, sufficient contrast, scalability of content, alternative text for relevant graphical content, and support for assistive technologies.
4. Accessibility status
The accessibility of printworld.com is continuously reviewed and improved.
An external audit based on WCAG 2.1, conformance levels A and AA, and EN 301 549 was carried out between 12 May 2024 and 23 May 2024 by Barrierefreiheit Umsetzen Malekzadeh & Franzke GbR. The corresponding audit report was issued on 26 May 2024.
The barriers identified in this audit report were subsequently addressed step by step, and a substantial proportion of them have been resolved.
As our online shop is continuously developed in terms of both technology and content, the 2024 audit report does not represent an assessment of the website in its current state.
The current implementation status was therefore last reviewed on 1 August 2026 as part of an internal self-assessment.
Some accessibility limitations currently remain, and we are continuously working to resolve them.
5. Current limitations
Despite our ongoing measures to improve accessibility, some content and functions of our online offering do not yet fully meet the requirements.
- Contrast: Some text, graphics and graphical controls do not yet achieve the required minimum contrast (WCAG 1.4.3, 1.4.11).
- Forms / error messages: Error messages in forms are not yet clearly identified and described in all cases (WCAG 3.3.1).
- Interactive elements: Not all interactive elements fully expose name, role and state to assistive technologies (WCAG 4.1.2).
- Data tables (e.g. price tables): Some tables are not yet fully correctly structured, for example due to missing table headers (WCAG 1.3.1).
The limitations listed here are being addressed step by step as part of the ongoing technical development of our online shop.
This overview will be updated when significant barriers are resolved or new limitations are identified.
6. Measures to improve accessibility
Accessibility is an integral part of the continuous development of our online shop.
To improve accessibility, we are implementing the following measures in particular:
- step-by-step resolution of the barriers documented in the external audit report
- regular review of the current implementation status
- consideration of accessibility requirements in new and further developments
- review of key functions and processes of the online shop
- consideration of keyboard operability and assistive technologies in technical development
- improvement of forms, controls, labels and error messages

Particular attention is paid to the functions essential for placing an order, such as product configuration, registration and login, print data submission, the shopping basket, the ordering process and payment processing.
