Have you ever asked yourself why the Germans still call them a "beer lid" instead of a coaster? While we are busy printing your coasters, here is a little story about how the "lids" made their way under your drink.
Since long before our time it has been common practice to protect your drink from flies and vermin of all kinds using an ornate tin lid. Since poorer portions of society could not afford such lids, they resorted to other means. So they took pine branches, cut them into slices and used them to cover their beers.
As time went by, the manufacturing process became more and more sophisticated and at the end of the 19th century, a man from Saxony invented the paper pulp predecessor of what is today known in Germany as a "beer lid". From then on, the "lid" gradually began to migrate under the glass, but to the Germans, the name remained the same.
Today, what we now call the coaster is the perfect promotional item for your company. Printed with company logo, important advertising messages or campaigns, they interact with customers when they are enjoying their beer in a relaxed and sociable atmosphere and are therefore most receptive. An attractively designed coaster is sure to draw attention, become a topic of conversation or, in the best-case scenario, make the beer consumer opt for a product from your company based on its advertising.

Square Coaster 93 x 93 mm: 100 to 100,000 units
We use a white cardboard mat with a thickness of 1.4 mm as the basic material for your coasters. This durable board is characterised above all by high absorbency - thanks to its uncoated top layers. The material is also characterised by high density and very low weight.
Companies and consumers are becoming increasingly aware of the need to take action to protect our environment. Our online print shop offers you the possibility to print your coasters not only for an affordable price but also climate neutral. This way you can make an active contribution to reducing harmful greenhouse gas emissions and at the same time support internationally recognised climate protection projects. We donate to a forest conservation project in Pará in north-eastern Brazil to offset the CO2 emissions generated by the printing of the coasters. The Ecomapuá project protects an area of 90,000 hectares at the mouth of the Amazon from deforestation, also improving the living conditions of 94 families in one of Brazil's poorest regions.

You can of course have your coasters printed with your custom design. Just create your own individual layout or perhaps design a photo coaster and upload a PDF file - we'll do the rest!
To ensure that everything comes out the way you want it printed, please consult our data sheet or the design template for the selected coaster. It is best to plan a bleed of 2 mm for elements that extend to the edge of your coaster. Furthermore, all important content such as texts, logos and graphics should be positioned with a safety clearance of 3 mm from the edge in order to avoid falling prey to possible manufacturing tolerances.
