Picture Advent Calendar: A must-have for all those who want to spend a low-calorie pre-Christmas season.

Every year ... between Christmas and New Year fear reigns supreme. Think about it, your loved ones may have (yet again) made bad gift choices and you now have to trudge through the masses to make exchanges or maybe your family had a falling out at Christmas dinner (it happens more often than you think) and now the house blessing hangs crooked and your nerves are shot. Perhaps you also have been suffering for weeks after the hundredth repetition of Wham's "Last Christmas". For most of us, disaster strikes long before Christmas. In early autumn, shelves begin being filled to the brim with gingerbread, chocolate Santa Clauses, and the like, many of us don't dare peek at the scales at the beginning of December. Taking the Christmas goose and potato salad into account, you can only hope that the pants' button will hold.

With all this going on, an advent calendar could just be the straw that breaks the camel's back. It is supposed to help count down to the feast while providing its chocolaty treats to help pass the time. However, add that to all the other delicacies, and it all too often contributes to extra bulk. But do not despair, there is a calorie-free alternative. Why not give the gift of a photo advent calendar?

Everything You Need to Know About Printed Photo Advent Calendars.

First a bit of history ...

They have been around for almost 100 years now - Advent calendars with little windows and doors behind which await Christmassy motifs. In earlier times they existed as tear-off calendars or simply 24 cut-out pictures glued onto a sheet. But wait a second: Why 24 doors? The modern Advent calendar enthusiast may think the question trivial, but not so fast - it is quite justified. After all, the Advent season often starts as early as the end of November. Indeed, there are also calendars that count down the actual Advent, i.e. the four Sundays before Christmas. The starting date for these of course varies. The 24-door version is more known and more popular among the general public.

And now let's get specific...
  • Picture Advent calendars can be printed at printworld.com in four print run sizes: 100, 250, 1,000 and 2,500 units.
  • Excitement without an expiry date: Have left over calendars? Just put them away with the rest of your Christmas stuff and get them back out again next year.
  • Your picture advent calendar comes in a handy DIN A4 format. Whether on a wall, a desk or even on the move - this calendar is guaranteed to find its place.
  • Printed in colour... what else do you expect? In printing, one-to-one means "4/4" colour.
  • Very important - the paper. We use 300g matt coated art paper to give the whole thing the same stability as cardboard. After all, these calendars may need to withstand brute force, as not everyone approaches the opening of the doors delicately.
  • Protection is essential: So that nothing discolours, scuffs or rubs off, we apply a matt dispersion coating to your Advent calendar. This protects the colour and thus ensures that images do not "smear". The pictures are ultimately the be-all and end-all of the photo advent calendar.
  • Speaking of pictures: Have you already thought about what you want to be hidden behind the individual doors? Classic motifs such as Christmas trees, Father Christmases and sleighs will of course always do the trick. But you could also incorporate 24 products into a Christmassy advertising appeal. For a giggle, you could also include pictures of 24 Christmas sweets, preferably listing their calorie counts. This way you can enjoy something sweet without the consequences.
  • Should you also want to give Mother Earth her Christmas treat, then simply choose our "climate-neutral printing" option and offset the CO2 emissions caused by printing.

Santa Claus Isn't the Only Thing Coming to Town ... Printed Picture Advent Calendars Are on Their Way.

  • Well okay, not quite that quick. After all, good things come to those who wait. In this case, 8 working days. That's how much time it takes to produce the picture advent calendars. So plan well and order with plenty of time so that the first door can be opened promptly on 1 December.
  • ... and on that note don't forget: Allow for delivery time in addition to the production time. This generally takes between 1 and 2 working days.
  • Production time, delivery time, ... when will I actually get my calendars? Once you have finished configuring your product, a date will be displayed on our site to the right of the calculation mask - and below the product image. But watch out: This date indicates the dispatch date, i.e. the day on which your order leaves our facility. You should also take delivery time into account, during which the order is in transit with the shipping service provider. So please allow sufficient time if you want to avoid unwanted delays in the end.
  • We of course need to put an address on the parcel to make sure that the picture Advent calendar reaches its destination. This is placed on the delivery note. The sender can be printworld.com; if you want the calendars to be sent directly to a customer, you can also use a neutral delivery note.

O Picture Advent Calendar, How Lovely Is Your Print File.

  • It's not just the thought that counts, but rather the data. How much of a bleed should I allow? Which file format should I send? What do I have to consider when aligning the pages? Our data sheet provides answers to all these questions and a few more.
  • My beautiful pictures are all blurry, why is that? If you are asking yourself this question, then you probably just received feedback on your print file, along with a preview file. We can at this point set your mind at ease - the preview is displayed in a reduced resolution of 72 dpi. We of course still print in the resolution that you create in your file. As long as you have set at least 250 dpi there, then there is no reason to expect anything other than sharp pictures in your calendar.
  • Many a chapter could be written on the subject of "print data", from colour space to line thickness. If you are unsure or just want to play it safe, we recommend our extended data check. We will take a very close look to check for quality issues.
  • Still got question marks above your head? Then just ask us your questions - we are happy to clear up any ambiguities by email or telephone.

And if you want to hang or display other calendars along with your photo advent calendar, your online print shop printworld.com is sure to have just the thing for you. Just take a look and find a matching annual, wall or monthly calendar.
